Rat's Story

Rat Kiley was known for his wild imagination and sitting around in a jungle, there's a good chance there isn't anything better to do. So you listen. We all do. Rat starting telling the guys and I about when he was a medic and all the crazy shit that he heard and saw over there. One of the guys in his platoon, Fossie, told Rat's platoon he wanted to bring his girl to Nam. There was no way I believed him for a second, but I listened. Marry Anne was her name and according to Rat, Fossie really did bring her over. Some rich chick from his home town in the middle of Nam. First things went well for Fossie and his gal, until Nam started getting to her. She started not coming back to Fossie's tent at night; he thought she was sleeping with one of his men, which would be easier for the poor ol' guy to handle. Turns out, the chick went to the Greenines. Totally eaten alive by Nam.
